          “maybe bullet scurried off with it.” it didn’t SEEM like the sort of prank that little squirrel would pull, and honestly speaking, buttercup didn’t even know if bullet would still be alive right now. how long do squirrels live? how long do chemical x – enhanced squirrels live? whatever the answer to those questions, buttercup expected the idea to at least ENTERTAIN bubbles, keep her from getting too upset about the art supplies. even if they were unreasonably expensive to buy in the first place. buttercup watches her sister for half a second before rolling her eyes. “diana, natasha, tony, steve, and bruce, all live in new york and they never get jack shit for free,” she reminds. giving that many people things for no pay would get expensive and unsustainable real quick.

                   ❝  but why would  b u l l e t  want brushes ?? he’s not the slightest bit interested in arts anyway !!  ❞ shoulders shrug lightly ; it’s upsetting of course , but best to accept defeat .  ❝ i’ll just buy more brushes tomorrow ; plus some other things  too !!  more pencils && crayons && sketchbooks– … um , maybe i should check if i even have enough money for the brushes , then i’ll think of the rest . ❞   it wasn’t usual for bubbles to get overly excited when it came to one of her biggest passions , && she knew her sisters were more than used to it by now .  carefully , the blue puff continues to trace a smooth cat eye with the liner her sister’s let her borrow .  ❝ … who are those people ??  does blossom know them too ?? ❞

          a brow arches, curious. “no, i haven’t. when’s the last time you did?” on the RARE occasion they get a night off — and they’re running on the assumption that this is one of those times since it’s near midnight and the hotline has yet to ring — bubbles usually spends it covered in paint. much as they all like to sing, karaoke nights are few and far between; there’s no one to pay for it. she runs a brush through her hair, happy that this night, at least, there’s no monster guts in it. “probably gonna smoke a bit, drink a lot, dance…” the usual. buttercup grabs some liquid eyeliner, tossing it at bubbles. she knows how much her little sister likes to do makeup. “we don’t have TICKETS to go to broadway, bubbles.”

 ❝ um … i think i was outside when i last saw it ; i was painting the sunset && yeah .  d’you think i might have left it out there ??  i’m always so careful with my brushes — && blossom would probably have found it by now . ❞  the blue puff ponders on the subject for a moment ; it seems unlikely that she would be so forgetful of her own art supplies , but maybe it would be plausible to double check the backyard .  catching the liquid eyeliner with a single hand , pearly whites shine through mauve lips ; cyan gaze focusing on her own reflection in the mirror as she begins to apply the eyeliner .  ❝ oh … um , maybe i’d like to dance there !!  && well , maybe we could get it for free or something — we’re us !! i’ve heard CATS is back on broadway ; it’s like a regular musical , but everyone’s dressed as cats && they’re so talented !!  ❞
